Legislative Issues
From
Washington State PTA
Don't balance the budget on the backs of children.
The state needs to improve basic education to better meet
the needs of all students, and to make better use of
taxpayer money. Remediation is expensive, and not all kids
have access to it. We're asking legislators to continue the
reforms of 2009 and 2010 to improve student outcomes and
align graduation requirements with employer and college
requirements. We’re also asking that funding aligns with
actual cost.
We can support kids – even in a tough economy!

Issue survey - Handout for back-to-school packets
- COMING SOON: An e-survey will go live in early September
Every year delegates from local units and the councils meet
to work out a legislative platform. In the past we have
provided a survey for local leaders to share with members to
gather feedback and assist delegates in voting. This year, WSPTA will send out an electronic version. We will send a
link to every member we have an email address for. We also
strongly encourage local leaders to distribute the e-survey.
Results will be sorted and shared.
