Wildcats PRRR! Reading Program
The Wildcats Prrr (Prepare, Read, Record, Reward) Reading Program would like to partner with you in getting your child to read! Read 20 minutes a day for at least 20 days in a month. Record the time on the PRRR Log sheet. Turn in your completed log to your teacher before the 1st Thursday of the coming month and receive a prize! Participate in 6 months out of the school year and become eligible for the end of the year Prrr party and grand prize!

Art Docent
We are off to a great start! Thank you to all the parents who have stepped up again, or for the first time, to bring art to our children. Our art docent program is through the Interurban Center for the Arts. For those of you new to Lake Wilderness, your child's art docent will visit the classroom once a month to teach them about various art elements, art principles and use a variety of mediums. The docents focus on elements and principles that are appropriate to that grade level, and apply them to EALRs whenever possible. I am thrilled to report that all the teachers have been covered (one opted out) and we are officially underway. So, start looking in the halls and in the classrooms to see the masterpieces that our students will be creating! Questions about the Art Docent program can be referred to Amy Granger.

Reflections Program
Each year, the PTA Reflections Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. Themes are selected from hundreds of ideas submitted by students to the PTA Reflections Program Theme Search. Past themes have included "Exploring New Beginnings," "If I Could Give the World a Gift...," "A Different Kind of Hero," and most recently, “I Can Make a Difference by…” and “Wow!” The 2009–2010 theme is “Beauty is…” and our deadline for submission to Office A is December 18th by 3:40pm.

Students participate in the Reflections Program by submitting entries to a local PTA or PTSA. Nationally, the program has six arts areas — dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts — and four grade divisions — primary, intermediate, middle/junior, and senior.
